On March 30-31, 2023, the Institute for Population and Social Research Mahidol University and Equitable Education Fund (EEF) held a meeting at Asawin Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok to clarify the operational guidelines for the information system development project and mechanisms to drive area-based education management. The meeting was attended by the working group of the Regional Smile Team, including Dr. Wittika Thangchan, Assistant Dean for Innovation and Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Business Administration and Accounting Khon Kaen University, Lecturer Dr. Nuchanart Muenchan from Phayao University, Lecturer Dr. Issarapong Poltanee from Kasetsart University, Lecturer Dr. Natthakitt Tansomros from Rajamangala University of Technology Eastern, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornthai Sirisatidkit from Taksin University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammadrorfi-Ee Musor from Prince of Songkla University, Mr. Pongsak Muensakda from the Institute for Population and Social Research Mahidol University, and Professor Dr. Pott Pongpaopattanakul from Naresuan University. During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Katewongsa and the working group presented their work objectives in area-based education management to reduce inequality (ABE) of the project to the Regional Smile Team working group. The objectives were to understand the operational roles, participate in the information system development project working group, and mechanisms to drive area-based education management. The working group was able to work efficiently and effectively in four issues: 1) effective coordination and communication of work to the provincial working group of the province, 2) support for work processes in design, use, and data analysis for work planning in various processes, 3) academic support in conjunction with the Equitable Education Fund to support the mechanism of the province to help the target group effectively and in accordance with the operational plan set by the province.
