National Transfer Account, a policy tool for sustainable development

On December 13, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan from the Population and Social Research Institute at Mahidol University was invited as a speaker for a discussion on the topic ‘Using National Transfer Flow Account data for policy use in Thailand.’ This event was organized in collaboration with Dr. Wasana ImEm from the United Nations Population Fund Asia Pacific Regional Office and Prof. Dr. Euamporn Phijaisanit from the Faculty of Economics at Thammasat University. The discussion took place at the conference dedicated to publishing the National Transfer Account, a policy tool for sustainable development. The conference was organized by NESDB in collaboration with UNFPA.

The event was graced by Ms. Worawan Plikamin, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council, and Ms. Sirilak Chiangwong, Head of the UNFPA Office in Thailand, who delivered the opening remarks. Ms. Suphannada Laohachai, a development expert focusing on income and income distribution, presented the results of the preparation titled ‘National Transfer Account 2021 (NTA 2021).’ The session was moderated by Ms. Duangkamon Wimonnit, Director of the Data Development and Social Indicators Division. The conference took place at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Bangkok.
