IDRC The South East Asia Obesogenic Food Environment (SEAOFE) Study

Between May 5-6, 2023, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, consisting of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teeranong Sakulsri and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirinya Phulkerd , attended the IDRC The South East Asia Obesogenic Food Environment (SEAOFE) Study meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to discuss the progress of the project implementation in 4 countries (Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia), with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirinya Phulkerd as the project leader of Thailand and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teeranong Sakulsri conducting research in phases 2 and 3 in Thailand, and Ms. Ms. Natjera Thongcharoenchupong as a research associate. They also met with the International Advisory Group to report on project progress and seek recommendations from a panel of international experts. At the meeting, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirinya Phulkerd also organized a training on document analysis (Day 1) and in-depth interviews refresher (Day 2) so that working groups in each country had knowledge, understanding, and could apply the knowledge gained to prepare for the policy analysis, which is the research in phase 4, the last phase of the main project. Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirinya is also in charge of this phase of the main project. In addition, on May 5, 2023, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirinya Phulkerd also participated as a guest speaker in the Public Webinar on Identifying Opportunities for Strategic Policy Design to Address the Double Burden of Malnutrition through Healthier Retail Food: The South East Asia Obesogenic Food Environment (SEAOFE) Study.
