On 20–21 May 2025, a research team from the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jongjit Rittirong, Deputy Director for Research, Dr. Pattraporn Chuenglertsiri, and Ms. Pimolpan Nitnara, conducted a local food system indicator data analysis workshop at Han Pho Subdistrict Administrative Organization and Khok Muang Subdistrict Municipality, Khao Chai Son District, Phatthalung Province.
The purpose of the meeting was to gather opinions and information from various local sectors, including members of the subdistrict administrative organization, local networks, and community members, for use in analyzing the appropriateness of the proposed local food system indicators, as well as to reflect the actual situation of the local food system.
The activity began with a presentation of previous performance results and an explanation of the meeting guidelines by the research team. Participants were then provided with a platform to exchange views on the local food system situation, followed by a discussion on the appropriateness of the indicator criteria throughout the morning and afternoon sessions. The research team collaborated closely with local networks to synthesize the data.
This meeting represented an important step toward the sustainable development of the local food system, grounded in the principles of community participation and the use of area-based data to inform context-specific approaches.
