Physical activity for seniors: tips for good health and long life

On April 10, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Piyathida Poonpattanapreecha (Acting Director of Ban Phraek Hospital), Kamnan Noppadon Thammaporn (Kamnan of Ban Phraek Subdistrict), Ajarn Sangvorn Phan Khem (retired government teacher), Sukalaya Sangklom (professional nurse), and Dr. Rungthong Kramanon (responsible for the model sub-district development project on consumption, sponsored by ThaiHealth) organized a training session titled “Physical Activity for Seniors: Tips for Good Health and Long Life” at Ban Phraek Hospital in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

The Thailand Physical Activity Knowledge Development Center (TPAK) at the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Katewongsa and his team, shared knowledge on the importance of being physically active in the training. The aim was to reduce the risk factors for chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by providing tips for appropriate physical activity for the elderly in the community, as well as precautions for exercising during hot weather. The training also demonstrated the appropriate and correct methods and guidelines for physical activity in the elderly.
